Cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com (CRO-USD) has secured regulatory approval from Italy's Organismo Agenti e Mediatori to provide customers in the country with its products and services.“We are committed to building lasting growth in the region and will continue working with regulators to deliver a wide range of products and services to our valued customers,” Crypto.com CEO and Co-Founder Kris Marszalek said in a statement Tuesday.The move comes as the company seeks to expand its global footprint. Towards the end of June, Crypto.com (CRO-USD) received an in-principle license from Singapore.Recall rival Coinbase Global (COIN) gained approval to provide crypto services to Italian residents just one day after Crypto.com's (CRO-USD) approval.Crypto.com's expansion efforts come even after Crypto.com in mid-June planned to lay off employees amid a widespread market downturn.
